🧬 Core Strands from This Week
Welcoming 29 Newfound Virtual Influencers to Virtual Humans.org
🔎 The Synopsis: We’re always keeping an eye out for new virtual influencers and today we’re adding 29 newfound virtual influencers to our roster.
🧬 The Splice: Many of the virtuals mentioned have been expanding into video content on platforms such as TikTok and Twitch. As more virtual teams become adept at the latest motion capture technologies, we expect video to become a popular medium for virtual influencers.
We also noticed an influx of virtual influencers from Asia this quarter. Thailand’s first virtual influencer AI Ailynn appeared, and we added 7 new virtual influencers from South Korea. The virtual influencer industry is continuing to grow and expand into new markets each day.
🔭 What We’re Looking at This Week
Discord’s new Premium Memberships let creators monetize servers
🔑 Key Quote: “We see Discord becoming a home for more creators and communities through products like Premium Memberships…By providing tools that let community creators earn money, more of them will run healthy engaged communities for longer periods of time.” — Sumeet Vaidya, director of engineering at Discord
🧬 The Splice: Many virtual influencers run a Discord where they can directly interact with fans. (You can’t “meet” Miquela IRL but you can play Pictionary with her on her Discord.) Fans prefer Discord over Patreon for the feeling of community present within them. They can support their favorite virtual while also participating in their fandom and making friends.
Best,
